Welcome to your GOH Firewise Community

GOH Firewise helps homeowners throughout GlenOak hills, Rancho Glen Oaks, and neighboring properties learn practical steps to reduce wildfire risk, improve preparedness, and strengthen  our community.

Protecting Homes, Preparing Families, Building A More Wildfire-Resistant Community

Wildfire is one of the greatest natural threats facing our community.

The good news is that each homeowner can take practical, proven steps to significantly reduce the risk of wildfire damage to their homes and properties. When neighbors work together, those efforts become even more effective.

GOH Firewise exists to help homeowners throughout our community learn how to better protect their families, homes, pets, and property from wildfire.

Whether you are just beginning to learn about wildfire preparedness or have already invested considerable time and effort into protecting your home, this website provides information, resources, events, and opportunities to help you become even more prepared.

We are a group of neighbors helping neighbors to prepare for wildfire.

Why This Matters

Our community lies within a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone as designated by the California Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Wildfires can spread rapidly, leaving little time to make decisions. Preparation done before a wildfire occurs can make a tremendous difference.

Simple actions such as maintaining defensible space, hardening vulnerable parts of your home, creating an evacuation plan, and staying informed can help reduce risk and improve safety.

Together We Are Stronger

Wildfire does not recognize property lines.

The actions taken by one homeowner can affect neighboring properties. When more residents participate in wildfire preparedness efforts, the entire community becomes safer and more resilient.

We invite you to learn, participate, and help make our community as wildfire-ready as possible.

Neighbor Spotlight

After attending a GOH Firewise presentation, the homeowner who brought Firewise to our neighborhood discovered that bark mulch and stored firewood near the house created unnecessary risk. By making a few simple changes, she significantly improved the defensible space around their home.
